Uncrossing
The Uncrossing candle removes jinx, bad luck, the evil eye, and crossed conditions.
What is a crossed condition?
A crossed condition is that heavy, stuck feeling when nothing goes right: a run of bad luck, plans that keep getting blocked, doors that won't open, and a weight you can't shake. You don't need to know who or what caused it. Brenda's Uncrossing candle is made to help clear it away so you can begin again.
Use it to:
- Clear jinxes, bad luck and crossed conditions
- Lift heavy, stuck energy after a hard season
- Turn away the evil eye and envy
- Start fresh before road-opening, money or love work
A simple Uncrossing ritual
1. Write your petition. On a small piece of paper, write the condition in one sentence, for example: "I release the bad luck blocking my work."
2. Set it under the candle. Place the petition beneath the candle in a fire-safe holder and add a pinch of salt on top.
3. Dress from wick to base. Rub a little oil from the top of the candle down toward the base, pushing the crossed condition away from you.
4. Light and pray. Light the candle and read Psalm 37 aloud, letting the words settle over you.
5. Relight nightly. Burn it for a while each night until it's finished, snuffing it out between sessions.
6. Carry it away. When the work is done, carry the leftover wax, petition and salt away from your home and dispose of them there.
Candle safety: never leave a candle burning unattended or when you leave the house. Snuff it out first, and always burn it on a fire-safe surface away from curtains, pets and children.
When to work it
The waning moon (Oct 27 to Nov 8) and Saturdays are the traditional times for clearing and release, and Samhain on Saturday, Oct 31, when the veil is thin, is a powerful night to cut away what no longer serves you.
Clear, return, then shield
Uncrossing Salts to deepen the cleansing
Uncrossing Mojo Bag to carry the work with you
Send Back Evil when you want to return what was sent
Fiery Wall of Protection to shield yourself once you're clear
Breaking a Hex for hex-breaking work
Spiritual practice only; results vary. Blessed Be.
Do I need to know who crossed me?
Why did my candle burn black?
How is uncrossing different from hex-breaking?
Uncrossing clears general bad luck, jinxes and blocks. Hex-breaking is aimed at a specific curse or hex. For that work, see Breaking a Hex.
What do I do after uncrossing?
Protect next. Once you've cleared, many people shield their space with Fiery Wall of Protection.
Can I pair it with Uncrossing Salts?
Yes. Uncrossing Salts pair well with the candle, and a pinch is already part of the ritual above.
